Welcome to the San Antonio International Airport, Clark/Byrne Terminal Expansion Program website. Here you can learn more about some of the exciting airport projects getting underway and how you can join Clark/Byrne, A Joint Venture as part of a team that's destined to make history in San Antonio.
In June 2007, the City of San Antonio chose Clark/Byrne, A Joint Venture as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) for the San Antonio International Airport (SAIA) Terminal Expansion Program. This project marks a new day in many respects for the City of San Antonio. The Clark/Byrne Construction Manager at Risk contract is the first of its kind for the City of San Antonio; as well, this project will forever mark the City of San Antonio history pages, as the single-largest Capital Improvement project in City history. This project includes nearly 300,000 square feet of new terminal space, renovation of existing terminal space in excess of 40,000 square feet, a new Central Utility Plant, and over 9000 linear square feet of baggage handling systems. Total project costs are estimated at nearly $200 million.
The Clark/Byrne team is made up of two distinguished and diverse companies with unparalleled experience in building large-scale projects. Clark Construction Group, LLC, has participated directly in building over 12 airports and currently has four more under construction, and Thos. S. Byrne has extensive industry experience with a myriad of projects completed, including construction participation in four airports.
All of us here at the airport are excited to have Clark/Byrne as part of this monumental effort and all of us look forward to providing the City of San Antonio with not only a beautiful new airport facility, but a San Antonio landmark that its residents are proud of and its millions of visitors will remember for a lifetime.
The "Alamo City" Airport truly is a special gateway to a very special community. All of us involved in these various projects are proud to be a part of the Airport's future, and we invite you to visit our Web site for the latest information on bid packages and procurement schedules, calendar of events, and helpful links to technical assistance providers.
